When it comes to revenge, love is a dangerous complication. With a fierce rivalry raging between two warring families, falling in love is the deadliest thing Sophie could do. An epic debut set outside modern-day Chicago.

When five brothers move into the abandoned mansion in her neighbourhood, Sophie Gracewell's life changes forever. Irresistibly drawn to bad boy Nicoli, Sophie finds herself falling into a criminal underworld governed by powerful families. As the boys' dark secrets begin to come to light, Sophie is confronted with stinging truths about her own family, too. She must choose between two warring dynasties - the one she was born into, and the one she is falling in love with. When she does, blood will spill and hearts will break.
I received an arc print copy of this book from Pinoy Book Tours for a blog tour in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. Thanks for lending me a copy! All are my own opinion and is not compensated by any individual, organization, or company. This might contain minor spoilers.

Vendetta is a novel about drugs, mafias, five hot brothers, two conflicting families and an idiotic Sophie.

I actually liked this book even though many say it is clichéd. I think the writing style of the author just got me into reading that even though I know that it’s a typical story I still enjoyed it. This book has a very loose VERY LOOSE! resemblance with the Shakespearean play ‘Romeo and Juliet’. Both main characters came from two opposing families and there is the ‘I-cannot-fall-in-love-with-you’ kind of rule between them that really did not matter because of the ‘I-still-fell-in-love-though-so-I-don't-care-anymore’ motto.

I totally buy the family secret of Nic’s. It’s so unbelievable because I did not know anything about mafias or gangs but them being known as people who do unlawful activities as their daily routines.

The bonus Italian terms were surprisingly attractive to read even though I totally do not understand it.

The characters are all great, actually. HOT BROTHERS, REMEMBER?! I think I do not hate anyone of them; even Sophie’s uncle (Ha! No spoiler.) I only hate how there’s insta-love between Sophie and Nic. Nic is a very sweet guy, most girls will swoon over him.

From the very start, I already sensed that there is chemistry between Luca and Sophie. Even though, Luca is very mean toward Sophie and all they do was bicker with each other, the chemistry is present in there. Luca was surprisingly sweet and caring, too, by the way. I will end up ranting and spoiling everything if I keep on writing.

I would not like this if not because of a) Italian terms; b) Both families’ secrets; c) Chemistry between Luca and Sophie; d) the ending. The ending is very cliffy. I just have to read the next book to know if Luca and Sophie will end up together.

I recommend it to romance readers out there who would not mind reading a clichéd story, this will appeal better to them. BUT! I am confident that even though you do not like this story you would still want to read the next book because YOU JUST HAVE TO KNOW WHAT WOULD HAPPEN NEXT.
