Spying on the Luminon, Aoléon and Gilbert uncover his plot to steal Earth’s milk cows and make the disturbing discovery that the Martian leader plans to disrupt Mars’s galact supply. The duo races to warn Aoléon’s father, Deimos, a manager at the galactworks, before the Luminon’s saboteur can act.

While still on the run, Aoléon takes her pilot’s exam so she can join the Martian intergalactic exploration fleet. However, during the test-run, something goes horribly wrong. The two are put in a life-threatening situation and only Bizwat, Aoléon’s Procyon commando friend, can save them.

Gilbert finally gets his chance to learn to skyboard, but the lesson turns into a test of skill as he and Aoléon are chased by the Royal Paladin Guard.

Will they survive?

I received a digital arc copy of this book from iRead Book Tours in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. All are my own opinion and is not compensated by any individual, organization, or company. This might contain minor spoilers.

The Hollow Moon is the third book in the series and follows Aoleon and Gilbert’s quest in discovering Luminon’s evil plans. We see that the resistance did not lie, we see friends becoming enemies, we see impostors and we get to see new villains.

We got the chance to explore more of Aoleon’s character. We see her get scared and unfocused. Unlike in the previous two books where she acted like the alpha between her and Gilbert. Here, the coin had been flipped. Gilbert learned how to be brave and to be a hero. For a moment, he took the role of the alpha. It is really evident that there’s a good character development going on in here.

The writing style remains unchanged. It is still fun, entertaining and fast-paced. The humour did not fade. Reading this had been fun and weird—not in a mean way.

If I would rank how this book excites me, I’ll rank it the lowest. It’s a little bit predictable to me but it doesn’t spoil the entertainment. The second book is my top 1.

The illustrations are really good! It really helps spice up every reader’s imaginations. I would probably have a hard time imagining how each entities look like without the nice digitalized illustrations. For sure, kids will like it.

This is an another good addition to the series that the targeted audience will surely enjoy.
